Annie discovered the felting arts more than 25 years ago, finding it a fascinating medium with which to make her quirky creatures. Felt—made primarily from sheep wool—is infinitely shapable, so much like the various clays she enjoys using at times, as well;  felt, however, can be custom mixed for extraordinary colors and divine textures. She also finds gourds to be an interesting addition to her art, both featured in their own right, as well as blended with her felted art. Since felted art is irresistibly tactile, it must, of course, also be worn! And so Annie makes scarves, handbags, a few hats every so often, as well as felted jewelry.

Throughout the years, her art has sold in major shows, including Doll and Teddy Bear Show, the New York Toy Fair, and others. Her pieces—both felted sculptures as well as those made from clays— have been featured in several galleries, including in Washington D.C., New Mexico, St. Augustine, FL, and others. She’s been a member of professional artists’ guilds, and taught in art circles, shops, and as a private teacher for many years.

Annie loves assisting people in discovering their Inner Artist, and excited to be teaching classes at Red Door 104. She is also happy to take custom orders, as well!
