Dolls are NOT just for kids! Bring your creativity, your playful inner child and your memories and dreams, and magically turn gourds, wool roving, fabric and bits and pieces of other things into a doll of your own design, a true heirloom to be cherished forever. You’re invited to bring mementos; a piece of jewelry (even a lone earring), a scarf or scrap of clothing- whatever you may want to include to deepen the personal story your doll will hold.
Annie Hyde has been making multi-media art featuring both creatures and art dolls made from clays, fabric, felt, gourds, wood and other things since the 1990’s. A long-time teacher of these skills, she will lead you step-by-step as you make your own creation. Gourds, fabric scraps, beads, jewelry pieces, buttons, wool and all tools will be provided. Bring your personal touches to add to your sculpture.
This class is excellent for both beginners and those experienced with arts and crafts. NO SEWING is required. Age 16+.
Registration closes 3 days before the class weekend in order to make preparations for each participant.
