Build, paint and PLAY a Lyre Harp- in one day!

Students will sand and paint their Lyre Harp (pre-assembled), and then let their imaginations soar as they add their artwork embellishments.  The tuning pegs and bridge are then installed, and the strings attached and tuned.  

Tuning an instrument is a great time for a music lesson (why these notes?  How and why do they fit together?).  After learning about the major scale tuning of their harps, they will learn to join in the song Stand By Me.  

If a student already plays an instrument, they are invited to bring it to add to the fun.  A keyboard will also be available for any budding pianists.  We will also learn about the many types of musical instruments, and how they are constructed to produce sound.

Bring a bagged lunch and water bottle. We have refrigeration. Kids will eat picnic style on the lawn of Crute Stage. Please dress for messy art projects and outdoor fun!
